My heart soars
my heart bleeds
my heart dances
all for the fear of
What path lies

I am fireworks.

The Lady Cat

She walked into the room like a wet cat
All wrapped in a black coat that
Seemed to suck in the light.
Her steps were ice-cream soft
as if they were afraid to be too
loud, afraid of sight.
Her neck darted around under a pink scarf
Afraid she might find what she seeked
Afraid she might find it too soon,
Afraid of sight.
Her hands held the metro a prisoner
Feeding it with the warmth of her
armpit.  She skipped out of the room.
Afraid she might be leaving too soon.
She blessed us with emptiness in her eyes
As she surrendered to the darkness of the night
Afraid she might be seen no more
Afraid of sight.
